I have modified this template : some french orders (in fact only the Ordre de la Libération) are forclos, meaning nobody can enter the order now, but still exist. In contrary some decorations have no living recipient, but can be awarded posthumously and therefore are no forcloses. 86.65.59.50 (talk) 11:31, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned in the WikiProject Orders, Decorations, and Medals Help for Authors, award names should be translated into English. The French designations are still there as redirect pages. Fdutil (talk) 00:42, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List modified, unofficial WW1 awards such as for the Marne, Verdun and the Somme were removed. Even the French list corresponding to this one does not bear them. I also moved the medals created in the early 20s for WW1 service into the WW1 section as it should be. In France, most awards are created after, some way after thew event for which they were created. To categorize them in their year of inception vice the event or time frame for which they were created to recognize is nonsensical. Fdutil (talk) 16:25, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
