Proposal to move[edit]

Hi Jfw6369, I am currently re-writing this low-quality article to greatly expand its scope and properly discuss all theories of imperialism, not just Marxian ones. There are many important theories of imperialism not associated with Marxist economics, such as JA Hobson.Mirkyton (talk) 23:40, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Major update, added to Socialism and Globalization projects[edit]

I have written a major update to this article to reflect the diversity and notability of many concepts in the field of imperialism studies. It is also now the topic header for the imperialism studies category and sidebar. Theory of imperialism → Theories of imperialism – This article now refers to more than one theory of imperialism, whereas initially it only referred to the Leninist theory. The "theories of imperialism" page would be more appropriate, but is currently a redirect page. Comment: This will overwrite a mess of good faith move warring and cut-and-paste moves. I normally preserve such histories but do not think that this one needs preserving. Mirkyton Yes, no complaints about your behaviour or theirs (and otherwise I would have wanted the history preserved), I did you will note call it good faith move warring... and also both supported the move and implicitly commended you for raising the RM. This article should be renamed to "Left Theories of Imperialism" and obtain a criticism section[edit]

The article is much more extensive than the prior but has the obvious POV of simply labelling it "Theories of Imperialism" when it is really theories of Imperialism from a left wing tendency, regarding capitalism as intertwined with imperialism.
