CLOAD not a TRSDOS command[edit]

I removed this line:

CLOAD "FILENAME" is the format for loading tape programs on a TRS-80.

CLOAD was a Level I, II and Disk BASIC command to load BASIC programs from tape, not a TRSDOS command. Nibios 23:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Randy Cook[edit]

Is there a good reason why Randy Cook is not mentioned on this page? This page would also benefit from some sort of chronology/version comparison describing what version of TRS-DOS was available for which version of Trash-80. For example, for TRS-80 Model I: TRS-DOS 2.0 -> TRS-DOS 2.1 -> Randy Cook parts with Tandy/Radio Shack -> TRS-DOS 2.2 -> TRS-DOS 2.3 etc Similar for Models III and 4.

As it is, the page is definitely misinforming the reader, since depending on the version of TRS-80, version 1.3 cited wasn't the last version available.

Also, it would be nice if further information would be mentioned about lineage of the OS. I am thinking of things like: Randy Cook parting ways with Tandy half way through writing TRS-DOS 2.2, and started his own OS company VTOS. He licensed the source code to VTOS to LDOS, and LDOS got hired by Tandy/Radio Shack to write TRS-DOS 6 (Essentially enhanced LDOS) for Model 4.

Now, I am not an expert, but all of the above I learned from googling for half an hour, and opposed to reading all of the above in wikipedia. Which is a shame.

article name[edit]

The screen shot at the top of this article shows that the OS refers to itself, both on its splash page and in its prompt, as TRSDOS. Why, then, does the article consistently insert a hyphen into the OS name that the OS itself never used? This Radio Shack ad from Computerworld, April 27, 1981, calls it TRSDOS. Unless there is an objection I will put in a request to move the page to TRSDOS. StarryGrandma (talk) 02:41, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
