Tribe Color Adjustments

I think the tribe colors should be adjusted to fit the exact shade of blue and red. I think the current Mana/Nuku colors are too dark since the buffs have just been released.

Need a third color for eliminated players. "Red" tribe color could be changed so it is closer to buff's orange / brown as VietPride10 suggests. At this point I don't know how to do mixed color tables, maybe or maybe not a priority for me.

Varner and Osten. Consistency edits.

Considering the circumstances surrounding Varner's elimination, I would like to invite you all to review my consistency edits of the Survivor Pearl Islands page.

Even though the reasons for Osten's and Varner's respective eliminations were different, the way they were eliminated from the game was exactly the same.

However, Varner is listed as being officially voted out while Osten was listed as a no-vote & quit elimination.

Again, I only edited for the sake of article consistency. To be honest, I'm not quite satisfied with leaving Osten's decision to quit solely in the episode summary, since it was such a milestone for the show. But then again, one can argue that that's sufficient.

No, I don't think it is the same thing. This was the first time ever that someone wanted to quit, so they didn't know how to handle it. He wouldn't have been forced to stay if his tribemates didn't agree. On the other hand, Varner never asked to leave, and if somehow his tribemates didn't verbally vote him out, a regular vote would have taken place. So Osten's and Varner's exits are completely different situations, and that does not re-qualify Osten's exit as a vote out. 92.155.45.235 (talk) 18:26, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Episode Three joint Tribal Council

Since two tribes all voted out one person from between them that night, there has been a question as to how to color the cells of the people who received votes. Some believe that Malcolm and Sierra, the two vote-getters, should have their cells colored according to the tribes they were in at the time, and some believe that their cells should be colored according to the tribe affiliation of the people who voted against them. Well, there is precedence for this kind of thing.

There have been some seasons in which the jury consisted of people whose own tribe affiliation at the time of their ouster was different from that of other jurors. For example, in Season 20 (Heroes vs. Villains), Coach and Courtney, the first two jurors, were each part of the Villains tribe at the time they were eliminated, but everyone else on the jury was part of the merged Yin Yang tribe at the time of their respective ousters. Thus, the jurors each had their own cells in the jury vote table colored according to their own most recent tribal affiliation (red for Coach and Courtney, black for everyone else). Yet the finalists all had their votes colored black, regardless of who voted for them to win. Similar situations occurred in Seasons Five, 13, 14, and 17.

Therefore, in the Game Changers voting table, under the column for Episode Three, Malcolm's votes against him should all be colored his tribe color, blue; and Sierra's votes should be colored her own tribe's color, red. Any questions? Greggens (talk) 20:59, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Cell colors correspond to the tribe member who voted. Also, we keep it as Sierra in Blue, while Malcolm in Red for consistency, which is why those juror voting tables are like that for CONSISTENCY. VietPride10 (talk) 22:46, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Cell colors of the votes themselves correspond to the most recent tribe of the person receiving the votes. That's how it has been with jury vote tables, even if the voter was most recently affiliated with a different tribe. Thus, it should be: Malcolm's votes in blue, Sierra's votes in red. A bit late to the party here, but it's never been established that the cell color should be corresponding to the vote receiver instead of the person voting, because we've never seen this case before. The jury is a whole different story: the jurors are not affiliated to a tribe anymore, and the color used for their vote corresponds to their juror status (which is the same as the merged tribe by default), not their former tribe they're no longer part of. I once tried to edit the voting table like this in order to keep track of both tribe affilations (of the voter and the person receiving the vote), the background being the voter's tribe color, and the name of the person receiving the vote being highlighted with their own tribe color. Survivor jury vote table discussion

There is a proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Survivor task force#Jury vote tables to list the vote totals in the same order as the names in the finalist row immediately above the vote totals. Whispering

There was a lot of whispering at tribal council in this season of Survivor. Jeff Probst took a more lenient approach to this than in previous seasons. Viewers were confused by Michaela's elimination in particular by not knowing what was said in the whispers. I think it could be added to the controversies section.
