Bombing[edit]

The following book has information:

  • Introduced and selected by Gillian Boddy and Jacqueline Matthews. Disputed Ground: Robin Hyde, Journalist. Victoria University Press, 1991. ISBN 086473204X, 9780864732040.

Page number unspecified in preview, but under the heading "A letter from Shanghai" - index says it is p. 363 - Posted by Woman To-day 1 June 1938.

Addressed March 7th, 1938, Rue de la Tour, French town, Shanghai

It said that the Post had been bombed twice and that it was an example of the Japanese terrorizing journalists (using a "window bomb" was one, with the newspaper being an example, and the other was throwing severed heads of newspaper workers on the pavement outside of newspaper offices)
