Then and Now?[edit]

I'm watching a game on KPTV Fox 12 Oregon right now, Bottom of the 3rd at 16:57, 26 May, 2012 (current score, Angels 0 Mariners 0). The game is being played Seattle Rainiers in a red uniform at home vs Los Angeles in a blue uniform. The article talks about the Seattle Rainiers well in the past, but not in the present. So, what am I looking at on television, then? It seems to me that the article needs to be updated for the present by somebody in the know. As I mentioned in the scores, the actual teams playing are labeled on television as Angels vs Mariners, but they're wearing blue Los Angeles and red Rainiers uniforms.

Oh - Pacific Coast League, Triple-A Minor League. Purpose, to give Major League a chance to see potential recruits in action, thus a Minor League team playing against a Major League team. Christopher, Salem, OR (talk) 00:33, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Christopher was watching a regular-season MLB game between the Angels and Mariners [1], in which they were wearing "throw-back" uniforms, I imagine.

I agree with Christopher that it would be a good thing if this article included more info, particularly what became of the minor league team after 1968.

NB The Seattle Rainiers are NOT the same franchise that plays now as the Tacoma Rainiers. Tahrlis (talk) 00:27, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
