Is the republican revolution a last gasp effort?[edit]

Is the Republican revolution of 1994 to 2006 a last gasp effort of a dying party? Will the Republican party go the way of the Populist party of the late 19th to early 20th century? The Communist party of the late 1930s early 1940s?

Conservative Christians have always been under attack by science and secular humanists, but never more so than today. Immigration, the World Court, Globalization, Atheism, and declining US church attendance (over the long term), I posit the conservatives realize they are threatened, that the entire world is against "them", so George Bush is the last horrah before the party dissolves.
