Untitled[edit]

I removed the assertion that the Rashbam's stress on peshat was the result of disputations with the Church. In fact, I honestly doubt whether he was involved in disputations at all. Without a source, this edit is difficult to uphold. JFW | T@lk 22:04, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Title POV[edit]

The title isn't neutral - not only is it not even the guy's actual name, but it includes an honourific - Rabbi. This violates the general Neutrality rule that wikipedia does not use honourifics (eg. Christ, PBUH, Rev., etc.) - see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (clergy). Newman Luke (talk) 16:18, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NAME#Common names. The article is named Mother Theresa, not Agnesë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. -- Avi (talk) 17:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Avi. The reason for that is that Mother Teresa is the name which appears in WP:RS for the woman born Agnesë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. It's also the English form rather than মাদার টেরিজা, though that's by the by. In the case of Shmuel ben Meir he never adopted another name, WP:RS refer to him as Samuel ben Meir, including the Jewish Encyclopedia. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English):

The title of an article should generally use the version of the name of the subject which is most common in the English language, as you would find it in reliable sources
