The first missionaries of Prosperidad were the Jesuits. One of the place where Fr. Saturnino Urios, SJ started a High School now known as Father Urios High School. After the Jesuits, the Missionaries of Sacred Heart (MSC) took over for a short period after which they turned this over to the Order of Carmelites (O.Carm.) Famous missionaries of the area are Frs. Eduardo Albiño, Roy Chiefe, Bonaventura Sunari and Nico Hofstede. Among the filipino priests, Fr. Artemio Deguitos Jusayan is well remembered being the last Carmelite to serve the parish.

The parish produced its first priest in the person of Fr. Arnel Glodobe, O.Carm. who also served with Fr. Artemio as an assistant parish priest. Bahbah has 3 missionary sisters. They are Srs. Juliet, Mercedes and Timotea Talandron; all three are Franciscan Sisters.

Here in Prosperidad, one can find the Irrigation center for Mindanao. This in turn has served the other communities of Mindanao.
