all the sections that have no content need to be expanded. Thanks Hmains 04:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article is full of vandalism.[edit]

Please take note of this article, there are words in the Filipino language found here that are in reality malicious and offensive, thaks wikipedia.

Whoever said the former comment was right. I also removed the entire Batak tribe section and placed a link to the main Batak tribe article. The text was lifted (complete with BACK TO TOP text) from this site. Lenticel 00:12, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Material on Kagayanen moved here for discussion/refinement[edit]

I've moved the following here from the Ethnic groups section:

---Kagayanen---

The KAGAYANENs were the people who traces themselves their ethnic origin from the island municipality of Cagayancillo, Palawan, Philippines, the ethnocenter of the Kagayanen people. They could be found as communities almost in every municipalities in the Province of Palawan, Philipines. The population in its ethnocenter, the Cagayancillo, which the call it locally "CAGAY-AN" were only 6,000 plus. However, they migrated to the mainland of Palawan and the biggest population of "Kagayanens" today was in the municipality of Roxas, Palawan, Philippines of more than 18,000.00 Kagayanens. The next was the the municipality of Narra, of more than 12,000 Kagayanens and the third one was here in Puerto Princesa City almost the same as the number of population in Cagayancillo. Some Kagayanen communities could also be found in some municipalties and places here in the province of Palawan.
The first printed and published material written in Kagayanen language was launched last Summer of 2008 between March to April, 2008, it's the "Kagayanen Bible". It was the project of the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL)an NGO in Coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) a Philippines Government agency. Because of this project we were able to read and write the Kagayanen Languges. Before the Kagayanens were just speakers and use other major languages like English or Tagalog in their written comunications. Because of the said project, the Kagayanen NGO, "Tambuli Ta Mga Kagayanen" was born and it broadcast in Kagayanen Language in the AM local Radio here in Palawan every Sunday evening for the promotion, advocacy and empowerment of Kagayanen people, their language, culture, arts, literature, music and environments. The said NGO, "Tambuli" represented by its president, Pastor Jehu P. Cayaon, became member of the Tubbataha Protected Area Management Board (TPAMB) the board commission by the Philippine Government to oversee the conservation and management of Tubbataha Reefs Marine Park, one of the Natural Marine World Heritage site, which was located in the Municipality of Cagayancillo, Palawan. Because of the Kagayanen Bible Project the Kagayanen cultural Band was born, the "Tatos ta mga Kagayanen". The members of the said band wrote and composed original songs in Kagayanen language and in tagalog language. For updates please log on to our website: http://kagayanenmovement.webs.com.

The above is unsupported and has a number of other problems, inclucing WP:LINKSPAM, WP:DATED, formatting problems, capitalization problems, etc.. It may be useful, but it needs work before being added to the article. I've removed a similar insertion from the Ethnic groups in the Philippines article. Ombard[edit]

"Pigafetta ... mentioned that these people use weapons consisting of blowpipes, spears and bronze ombard." I can't find any definition for 'ombard'. It's not even in the Scrabble dictionary. Mathyeti (talk) 21:07, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
