Notability[edit]

The {{Notability|Biographies|date=August 2008}} tag is being removed. Notability is demonstrated by his election in 1980 as the First American president of the International Society of Organbuilders, as well as he and his organ-building appearing in published secondary source material as required by WP:BIO. If anyone disagrees with this, please feel free to restore the tag and describe that her on the talk page. Truthanado (talk) 01:38, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other info - can anyone find reliable sources?[edit]

He was definitely a member of the Austin Friends Meeting (Quaker) for many years. His ex-wife Margaret was clerk of the meeting in the mid-late '80s at least. Margaret was also, I believe, a survivor of the bombing of Dresden. She was active in a number of causes including leading a group which was successful in advocating preservation of trees in Austin. I believe Otto's original religious background was Mennonite, which I believe was a factor in his being a conscientious objector. I had thought that he had training in acoustical physics, even a doctorate, and was wanted by the Navy to work on sonar development in WWII, but perhaps I am misremembering. I believe he played several musical instruments - at least he had various instruments in his house. Enon (talk) 21:49, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
