Untitled[edit]

I write that Nikki’s beliefs are irrational because it very much is irrational to believe that the United States government will throw one in jail for polygamy or any religious act by a law abiding person. As far as the government of the land is concerned Bill Henrickson is a man that is part of an abnormal faith and is married to a woman named Barb and lives and sleeps with two other women (there is no law in the U.S. against having multiple sexual partners simultaneously). As long as a polygamous (or polyandrous for that matter) is paying their taxes and not using their religious situation for criminal purposes, they should not have much worry about (at least by the government). Worrying about the ordinary person is another thing, such as Bill’s rational fear that a religious outing may drastically affect his business interests. Mdriver1981 06:28, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While that's definitely true for the federal (US) government (and in my personal belief), the state of Utah is a little different in that manner. There are laws that specifically forbid "polygamy" (not sure how they exactly define it. Bill's is definitely not a legally bigamous relationship, but he does use terms like "wives" and "marriage" privately, if that matters.) or more specifically "co-habitation" (a little hard to pin on Bill because of the whole three houses thing, but all 4 adults, plus 6 children, definitely shared a house in the past, as can be seen on the HBO "...Years ago" specials).--Tim Thomason 02:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed vandalism.[edit]

It states that Grant is revered as "The Big Gay Prophet." I watch this show and I don't believe this is correct. It also states that "The program has often focused on Nicki's internal conflicts of sexuality, particularly as regards her mixed loyalties between her gay father and her husband, who themselves are frequently in conflict."

To make sure I wasn't incorrect I read the bio on Wikipedia about Roman Grant and nowhere does it state that he is gay. I think this is vandalism so I am removing the gay parts of the article. Unless Ive missed something watching this show,he is not gay and if he was it would be a major storyline and it would also state Roman Grant was gay in his bio on Wikipedia.--74.241.183.35 (talk) 16:57, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
