Neutrality[edit]

The views at Mount Mee are indeed excellent, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate to describe them as such in this article. I've added a neutrality dispute for this reason. Perhaps consider revising these sections? JudoTiberius (talk) 10:15, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JudoTiberius: Hi, just some advice. It is a bit over-the-top to put a neutrality-disputed tag on the article over one word. We usually only put a whole-of-article tags when the article has a problem in a widespread way. In this case, it would have been perfectly ok for you to just remove the "excellent" with an edit summary of "removed puffery" ("puffery" being a common term for that sort of thing on Wikipedia). As it happens, I put "excellent" there myself, to replace "one of the best" for much the same reason. Claims like "biggest", "best" etc of something generally are hard to defend in Wikipedia unless there's been some serious competition (we can say certain people are the fastest swimmer over a distance because we have world records, but we don't hold such competitions for views). The reason I didn't remove the superlative completely was because it was supported by a citation (albeit the church's website), but, also because I've been there too and they really are excellent views. But in the light of your concern, I have removed the word. But, as I say, you could have just removed it yourself; something like that doesn't really need a discussion, but I see you are a new contributor and evidently trying to do the right thing, so I thought I'd explain a bit more about how that kind of tagging is used. If you ever need any help or advice, do not hesitate to ask me. Also Wikimedia Australia runs a drop-in session via Zoom most Thursday mornings 10-12 (QLD time) which is great place to get help or advice, especially when starting out.
