@JHobson3: No, because it says in the very first sentence that minor leagues are "professional" leagues, which means the athletes get paid. Lizard (talk) 02:15, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

So the NCAA manages to get away with not paying their players, which saves the colleges money. That does not change the fact that it is the minor leagues of basketball and football. JHobson3 (talk) 12:58, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

The Developmental Football International (DFI) is an American or gridiron football league with 8 teams: 4 in the US east coast and 4 in Southern California. Their headquarters is in the Washington DC area. They debuted in August 2018 and played a 2 month season. 12.218.47.124 (talk) 22:39, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Minor league

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Minor league's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Minor leagues are professional sports leagues which are not regarded as the premier leagues in those sports.
