Greg Paulas?[edit]

Looks like a Duke fan made this article. Could somebody with better information edit this article please?

I made it, and I'm not a Duke fan.--Downwards 01:59, 24 May 2006 (UT

Article Rename Request[edit]

There is another Marcus Williams that plays basketball. To aviod confusion, I think the subtitle of this article should be changed.

How about we make it Marcus Darrell Williams? This guy's been on more than one team, and who knows how many teams he'll play for in the future.—Nat Krause(Talk!) 04:13, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Few reasons it should be left as Marcus Williams (UConn)
  • It can't be Marcus Williams (basketball) or Marcus Williams (basketball player) as there is already another existing Marcus Williams b'ball player for the University of Arizona.
  • It can't be Marcus Williams (New Jersey Nets) because what if he gets released or traded?
  • It can't be Marcus Williams (NBA) because the other Marcus Williams may join the NBA
  • He is not not known by his full name "Marcus Darrell Williams", just Marcus Williams so it being the article's title is not preferable. Please cease moving this page. --Downwards 07:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first source for this article is for the Marcus Williams at Arizona, not the UConn Marcus Williams, and needs to be re-cited
It's true that he's not known as "Marcus Darrell Williams", but, then, he isn't known as "Marcus Williams (UConn)", either; he's just known as "Marcus Williams", which, unfortunately, is ambiguous. He doesn't even play for UConn anymore. I would prefer using his full name, which is the only relevant disambiguator which is unlikely to change during his career.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 18:42, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move proposal[edit]

We should definitely move the page. Since 4 Marcus Williams pages exist, I suggest we move them like this
MW (UConn) -> MW (basketball, 1986)
MW (Zona) -> MW (basketball, 1985)
MW (AF) -> MW (1977)
MW (footballer) -> MW (football, 1986)

This would move the articles from ridiculous ties to universities they don't even attend anymore and help avoid confusion. Any thoughts?--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 22:13, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Playing in Puerto Rico[edit]

I am a fan of the Quebradillas Pirates, the team for which Williams will be playing this summer in the Puerto Rican league. I added that information to the article but it was deleted since no source could be found. I have been searching and I can't still find any good official source. I have a couple of press pictures of him playing in some pre-season games, but i don't have the rights to distribute them.

However, in this article ( http://www.latinbasket.com/Puerto-Rico/basketball.asp?NewsID=157512 ) it is mentioned that David Huertas is signign with Quebradillas, and in it, the fact that Marcus Williams will be the starting point guard for the team is mentioned. Is that good enough of a source? Please, let me know. <<Coburn_Pharr>> (talk) 22:05, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

Calling someone a basketball is a WP:BLP serious policy violation, I have smoothly fixed this though♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 18:07, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
