P million bangus what?[edit]

Can somebody explain what the heck this sentence means:

"The government estimates that this toxic waste killed about Php1.8 million worth of natural freshwater marine life and Php5 million worth of fried milk fish" (-I know it's too late but just thought of editing to clarify; 5 million pesos worth of milk fish is somewhat an added exaggeration in my opinion-)

The same content can be seen at this website. From surfing Wikipedia it seems that "bangus fry" are recently hatched milfish. Perhaps the "P5 million" is five million Philippine pesos.--Commander Keane (talk) 12:56, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Text copied directly fromsources cited.[edit]

Some of the text in this article is copied verbatim from the sources it references. For example:

"It is estimated that a total of no less than 84 million metric tons of mine tailings were discharged into this shallow bay between 1975 and 1988."

And surrounding sentences are copied and pasted directly from the referenced source. I suspect there are other instances of this. --24.190.217.35 (talk) 05:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out. I think the best way to fix this will be to scour the web (using Google or similar) to find all the matching text, and simply remove it from the article. This site in addition to the site you pointed out ([1]) are starting points. The other option is to blank the article and start it over again.--Commander Keane (talk) 12:56, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

This is simply a reminder that this article needs serious attention. Some of the cited sources have broken links, and the text in many places is word for word without citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.186.207.144 (talk) 20:04, 9 March 2013 (UTC) Montykillies (talk) 23:45, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
