Possible vandalism/non-existent alumni[edit]

There are many inaccuracies in this article. The newspaper is called "Fruit", but it is spelled differently, many of the supposed alumnis never went to LT, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.81.37.110 (talk) 14:38, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that the following "notable alumni" is not vandalism. However, the name "David Sack is not real and therefore should be deleted, unless someone has a reference or link to validate that this person actually exists.

John "The Apechild" Spero -- noted crime syndicate enforcer with the Boise Idaho mafia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.32.38.87 (talk) 20:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added links to all the notable alumni from the LTHS site. The ones that i couldn't find were deleted. -Soxrock

Looks like someone viciously edited the page with wrong information. I have corrected what I could so far- ice man —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.192.42.88 (talk) 00:28, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of salary information[edit]

I just removed some information regarding salaries and a website source "The Champion":

1. "The Champion" admits that it is biased in several points, which calls into question as to whether or not it can be trusted as a reliable source. It claims to be using the Ill. State Board of Education as as source, but there is no link that says as much. Normally, I wouldn't think twice, but given it is an admitted biases source, I would think another source is needed.

2. The claim in the article was that the average salary was $X. This is not listed on "The Champion" website. Further, if this $X being reported in the article is teacher salary, than it can't be computed from the website, as it does not distinguish between teacher and administrator. If the $X is the average staff salary, then it is also misleading, as there are many staff members not listed at "The Champion". Either the amount is wrong, or how it is being described in the article is wrong.

If a reliable source can be found, and this information can be properly framed/defined, please re-add it. LonelyBeacon (talk) 23:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Importance Rating[edit]

I am going to go out on a limb by changing the importance rating on the Wikischools project banner to "Mid". I would like to see an independent assessment, because this article might deserve a "high" rating, given the extensive list of notable almuni which includes a Nobel Laureate and a Pulitzer Prize winner among others. Individual Names in the Newspaper Section[edit]

Not sure of the appropriateness of naming former Lion newspaper contributors "Kate Certain and Brigid Sweeney, faculty advisor Barbara Thill" in the newspaper section. Nowhere else on the LTHS page, aside from the "Notable Alumni" are there any individuals mentioned by-name. Other individual accomplishments by former principles, teachers, or athletes are not included on this page, and I think the same should apply for a single entry on the Newspaper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.178.1.234 (talk) 16:10, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from 99.115.151.154, 26 September 2011[edit]

LTHS has two swimming pools and along with many dirt feels also has an official football field.

Athletics[edit]

I feel that the following section (second paragraph under Athletics) is insignificant to the article and should be removed. This section of the article also appears to be somewhat biased.

"Lyons Township has currently lost to Hinsdale Central in the course of the 2014/2015 season in Boys Soccer, Boys Golf, Boys Cross country, Boys Basketball, Boys Football, Boys Hockey, Boys Swimming, Boys Tennis, Girls Golf, Girls Cross Country, Girls Swimming, Girls Tennis, and Girls Basketball. With a school that is quite a bit bigger than Hinsdale Central, one would expect Lyons Township to win in many sports yet this is just not the case." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcelvoguem (talkcontribs) 18:49, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Right wing watch is not a credible source[edit]

Right-wing watch is a political movement and very biased. You cannot use it for a sole source for their political enemies. I will be removing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emicho's Avenger (talkcontribs) 18:22, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel freed to take up this issue with the Reliable Sources Noticeboard, not this article.--Jorm (talk) 19:05, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removed as it was a clear BLP violation. RWW is a poor source and it was being used to describe a living person as a white supremacist in wiki voice. Even in the parent article the person isn't described as a white supremacist in wiki voice. If this is restored it needs to go to BLPN. Springee (talk) 01:13, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
