Change % don't add up[edit]

There are odd numbers in the 'Estimates between the years 2020 and 2050' part. For example:

Pakistan starts at 213,720 in 2020 and ends at 490,848, a total growth of 229%.
Nigeria starts at 204,950 in 2020 and ends at 402,244, a growth of 196%

But the growth % is much higher every 5 yrs. for Nigeria, so Nigeria should have grown more in the end 2A02:A462:3C6F:1:605C:6872:1F54:4FC2 (talk) 07:41, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which numbers are interesting?[edit]

Per WP:NOTDATABASE there ought to be some distillation in this article about which trends in these data are actually notable. Reading all of these numbers to get the important bits is impossible.

Did you know that, according to this article, the population of Cape Verde grew by 2.93% between 1955 and 1960, but then jumped by 3.07% between 1960 and 1965? No? Is that because it's not very interesting?

Graphs would summarize a lot of detail, but I don't know how to visualize 200+ locales at once. In order to detail by year, aggregating by region would be necessary. In order to detail by country, we would need to cut down on the number of years.

Having 1950, 2000 and 2050 seems very readable to me. But maybe you like 1950, 1975, 2000, 2025 and 2050. Wizmut (talk) 08:40, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
