Comment[edit]

FM 2265's HDF entry does not include the piece that became FM 28, but the number is correct per the ROW map. It was defined in 1954 based on FM 2264 and FM 2266. --NE2 22:21, 29 October 2015 (UTC) I found via minute order search that this is NOT the original FM 2265. The original FM 2265 was defined in 1954 in Hill County, but was cancelled in 1955 and was removed from the designated highway system. This FM 2265 was in Floyd County.Alexlatham96 (talk) 01:42, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FM 4 and FM 9 inline citation fixes[edit]

FM 4 and FM 9 were defined twice. I changed names to FM 4Z and FM 9Z.--DThomsen8 (talk) 04:24, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page length[edit]

The article currently has 197,616 bytes of markup; that's too much, and it needs to be subdivided. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:03, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that each of the sections describing the road be split into pages titled Texas Farm to Market Road #. Many of these sections are long enough to split off.

Ari Stassinopoulos (talk) 16:25, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose as most of these roads do not satisfy notability inclusion criteria for independent articles. Instead condense the existing content into a table. Polyamorph (talk) 08:11, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Creating this list (and the 30 or so others like it) was a concerted effort by WP:USRD to merge a couple hundred perma-stubs into a list format such as this. That effort doesn't preclude anyone from creating an article and expanding it, but if you just want to split them off for the sake of splitting, you're going to get some pushback. –Fredddie 13:03, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Same reasons as Polyamorph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexlatham96 (talkcontribs)
  • Oppose: No policy-based reason given for splitting these, and this also comes into conflict with WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS considering there are multiple similar lists all the way up to List of Farm to Market Roads in Texas (3500–9999). ToThAc (talk) 18:38, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Fredddie, and as the creator of several lists in this series. These lists were created under the WP:USRD/RCS project guideline to do away with short articles on less notable highways, while providing more coverage and better splittability (if warranted) than a table. As such, I oppose Polyamorph's reasoning that the contents should be folded into a table, but we definitely should not have thousands of unmaintainable articles on roads that most people outside of Texas don't care about. -happy5214 19:43, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, per Fredddie. If page length/size is the main concern that people feel must be addressed, I'd suggest splitting this list into two separate list pages (1-49 and 50-99) over splitting each section to individual articles or merging contents to a table. So what now? This article is still 203,227 bytes in size. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:11, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

XTools says there are only 85,339 prose characters, which is large but not excessively so per WP:TOOBIG. -happy5214 08:23, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
