February 2020[edit]

Why is Marxism and communism off limits on this page? Is there an honesty problem Wiki editors have with Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Marxist philosopher and communist politician? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.223.69.246 (talk) 05:20, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gramsci has already been linked to on this page. If he needs attributes, they belong with the first mention. The issue has nothing to do with marxism or communism, but with ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of the information. Plandu (talk) 05:26, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Per What a Midwestern Presidential Candidate Learned From Marxist Intellectuals, "he was hardly a campus revolutionary"... "his politics weren't easy for his graduate students to read"... "I don't think he ever really shared his politics, certainly not with us"... "He was progressive, he's not a communist"... "he was about as far from an ideologue as I can imagine." Based on that, the reverts I've seen are fair. wbm1058 (talk) 11:55, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Father of the democrat candidate[edit]

Was this page created just because he is the father of the democrat candidate? Is it really relevant for an encyclopedia?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zimbricchio (talkcontribs) 11:39, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This page was created about three months before his son became a presidential candidate. This man held a named chair at a major university, Notre Dame, and is therefore notable by Wikipedia's standards. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:29, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
