Human security[edit]

I have edited the section on human security in this article. I felt that this article did not previously provide an accurate and sufficient representation of human security, particularly in comparison to that of traditional security. The human security section has been amended with a view to providing a better description of human security and how it differs from the traditional, national approach to security. Part of this amendment involved removing the references to Canada which (nothwithstanding the fact that Canada is one of the primary supporters of human security principles) I believed were excessive and unnecessary, particulary given the brevity of the section. Problems in international security worth mentioning.[edit]

1.) Security services have access to information that other individuals do not have.
2.) Criminal activity as defined by law moves through all sectors of society, including security services.
3.) Invasion of privacy for alleged national security allows the gathering of information in such a manner that misuse and abuse of personal information becomes rampant.

A current common place scenario:

M.Security: ´He made a statement I don´t like´,
M.Security_Invader_of_Privacy: ´I don´t like him on moral grounds´, (Religion, behavior, third party innuendo, etc)
M.Con_in_Security: ´They don´t like him, if we target him the security services won´t do a thing´,
M.Media: ´Criminal elements defined as terrorist broke the bank, 100,000 affected´,
M.Security: ´He/they had what was coming to him/them.´
M.Security_Invader_of_Privacy: ´True, we have the morally gathered moral proof.´

How will International security counter criminality originating from those that are alleged to workin international security and nominated as homegrown ´terrorism´. IE: United Nations, United States.

There are sufficient articles related to these affairs implying that ´alleged international security´ has become a simple aka for state sponsored criminality, laisez fair, in the name of international security.(Fractalhints (talk) 13:39, 10 January 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Placing Liberal Security under Traditional Security?[edit]

Human security is a concept established by Liberal Security. Traditional security should refer to realist principles of security where as contemporary principles of security refers to Liberal security. Humanitarian security is established under institutions (institutions are fundamentally liberal) such as R2P, created by the UN — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.94.8.213 (talk) 03:34, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
