Notable Alumni[edit]

I recently updated Huron's "Notable Alumni" section with the addition of John Knoll, legendary visual effects artist. Someone deleted it thinking they knew better. If you would like to verify that John Knoll did in fact attend Huron High School, please refer to the following pdf link: <<http://www.aaps.k12.mi.us/boe.0607/files/032107.info.pdf>> or search for ["john knoll" + huron high school] on Google. For now, I'm putting it back up. ~twg 03:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the source (specifically, on page 66/94 of that document). ~Gertlex 22:31, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Address[edit]

Is it noteworthy or even proper to put the street address of the school on the page? ~Gertlex 06:31, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What street adress its there so that if sombody wants to come to the team they can. 8febuary

Merge from Team 830[edit]

I placed a tag on Team 830 suggesting that article be merged into this one. Please take a look and see what you think. Ropcat 06:57, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. I added the {{mergefrom}} template to this article. --ElKevbo 12:34, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm of the opinion that the entire article should be deleted. It's loaded with factual inaccuracies, does not mention the team's sponsors, and ultimately, is quite insignificant (I believe all individual FIRST Robotics teams are). There is a wiki elsewhere on the web for FIRST teams. ~Gertlex 21:47, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to prod or AfD the article. --ElKevbo 20:17, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Our wikipedia site is there for us to tell sponsers that we have a wikipedia site. aswell as we are not the most well liked club at huron so somebody might get alittle angry -unaniomus 8 of febuary —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.38.191.10115:15, February 9, 2007 (talkcontribs)

Wikipedia is not to be used for advertising in any way shape or form. Your team has a website. Sponsors would be more interested in that. You can certainly include a history section and other such details. ~Gertlex 21:39, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:HuronHighSchoolLogo.gif[edit]

Image:HuronHighSchoolLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Assessment[edit]

Per request of an editor, I am assessing this article for Wikiproject Schools. I am maintaining the current Start rating, and giving the article an importance rating of Low.

I just pulled out some obvious material that does not belong for reasons ranging from WP:PRESTIGE, WP:NPOV, WP:NOT, and WP:ENCYCLOPAEDIC. This material should not be restored. Of the remaining material, a vast amount of it needs to be verified with reliable sources. Until there is improved referencing, I do no think that this article can progress beyond the start stage.

I have assigned this article low importance because there is no assertion that the school has made a major impact regionally or nationally. However, there is a listing of alumni that may qualify this article for higher importance, provided that their being alumni is confirmed by reliable sources and properly referenced. I wish editors working here the best of luck! LonelyBeacon (talk) 01:33, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarship program?[edit]

I know WP:NOTPAPER, but the section regarding the German scholarship program has significant notability issues. As Toddst1 had stated in his edit summary, the scholarship program is one of many. I am currently a student at Pioneer. I have never heard of this scholarship opportunity. This is indeed a unique scholarship opportunity due to Tubingen being Ann Arbor's sister city, but it's still not notable. If information about this scholarship program can be added, it is only fair to include the numerous other scholarship opportunities, such as rising scholars. Opinions please? The same topic would be addressed on Pioneer's talk page as well. GuyHimGuy (talk) 01:59, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
