Fair use rationale for Image:Hct logo.gif[edit]

Image:Hct logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merger information[edit]

It should be noted that several articles were merged into this article as a result of a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abu Dhabi Men's College. The articles merged into Higher Colleges of Technology include, Abu Dhabi Men's College, Abu Dhabi Women's College, Al Ain Women's College‎, Al Ain Men's College, Dubai Men's College, Dubai Women's College, Fujairah Women's College, Ras Al Khaimah Men's College, Fujairah Men's College, Sharjah Women's College, Sharjah Men's College and Ras Al Khaimah Women's College. The associated talk pages were redirected to this talk page, as there was no content aside from project banners. The only exception was Talk:Ras Al Khaimah Men's College. A discussion on that page has been retained for reference. Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 06:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Staff Morale[edit]

There is no citation for the assertions contained in the paragraphs "The college has faced several challenges in recent years regarding its ability to retain quality teaching staff. Many teachers have left after serving for just one contract (three years) or less, and at some of the HCT colleges staff turnover has been more than 25% per year recently, much higher amongst supervisory and middle management staff.

This problem has typically been attributed to low salaries, poor senior management, and worsening college conditions. For example, several teachers have found that their contracts are not renewed after negative assessments from the students, irrespective of whether the students have passed their courses with good grades. The management's insistence on pandering to students' whims, and replacing education with 'edutainment', means that internal morale remains low at most HCT colleges, despite heavy external promotion from the recently established Marketing and Public Relations Departments".

While there may or may not be substance to these assertions, failing to back them up with evidence appears to me to fall short of wikipedia's quality standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tagilbert (talkcontribs) 23:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Enough![edit]

No more edit-warring. Time to discuss the conflict and come to a conclusion. — Scientizzle 13:36, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who has sources to back up the content being added? Also verify that they meet WP:RS. All content on Wikipedia must be cited! Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:39, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All content must be verifiable, I think you mean. Rich Farmbrough, 18:18, 16 September 2011 (UTC).[reply]

The content that is disputed is all verifiable and has been linked to sources. The reason that the section has been repeatedly blanked (by HCT management, presumably) is that they simply do not like the content and the negative light it throws on the college, and wish to have it censored. ``` — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanSandy (talkcontribs) 11:19, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

March 2012 Edit protection[edit]

Due to the protracted edit warring by anon IP accounts, I have semi-protected the article for 3 months. Please discuss the issues on this talk page rather than continue reversions and consider the processes described at Dispute resolution to reach a consensus on how all points of view can be presented in the article with appropriate weight. Thanks -- (talk) 11:56, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citation cannot be based on rumor nor newspaper articles. Facts must be verifiable. Otherwise, it becomes slanderous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justiti (talkcontribs) 06:03, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One user is trying to make improper edits on the page by manipulating names like Dr. Simon Jones name which has been changed in the current version to Dr. Osimon Bin Jones which is considered by all means vandalism!!! Also, the Controversies and mismanagement section is not relevant to the purpose of the page which should provide unbiased information without discussing "Controversies". in addition to that, it is based on either old information back to 2005 which is not relevant anymore or has incorrect citations or personal views like this citation "HCT treats its teachers as "unskilled, disposable labour"" which is incorrect since it is mentioned in the article as personal view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.229.181.251 (talk) 09:56, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
