Source of the text about the commanders[edit]

Just found the source of the part about the camp commanders. It's an exact translation from: [1]. The disclaimer of that site clearly states that everything on the site may not be copied, used or published without consent of the webmaster. LeeGer (talk) 17:50, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

This sentence: "At first, they were guarded by allied soldiers, but shortly after by the Dutch." gives me the impression that there is a distinction between the allies and the Dutch. I'm sure that cannot be the intention. If you agree, could it be reworded to avoid any possible offence to the many brave Dutch people? Dawright12 (talk) 13:46, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you can't deny there IS a difference between foreign soldiers and Dutch guards - and the term "allied" normaly refers (afaik) to soldiers of the USA, Russia, France and the UK, maybe to Canadians or Polish troops - but not to the Dutch, who weren't organized in any kind of official army. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.170.180.78 (talk) 12:55, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The only concentration camps in western Europe outside of Germany[edit]

How about Amersfoort concentration camp? Either this sentence has to be modified, or Amersdorf has to renamed to transit camp. I do not know enough to do decide. The same with Westerbork concentration camp. Andreas ^(T) 00:39, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of vast swath of incoherent natterings[edit]

It seems portions of this article are the result of machine translation (from Dutch, I'd imagine). I understand that generally it's better to fix stuff than delete it outright, but in this case the material in question was of such utterly abominable quality (just a hair short of absolute incoherence) that fixing it would pretty much require total re-writing from the ground up. I get the vague sense that some of what this material describes may be, in more coherent form, essential to a good article. Anne Frank[edit]

Anachronistic map[edit]
