Don Mueang Tollway[edit]

Thailand's Expressways (ทางพิเศษ) are a distinct legal class of roads, covered by The Expressway Authority of Thailand Act, B.E. 2550. They refer only to the roads owned by and operated under the supervision of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT). Don Mueang Tollway is a concession highway under the Thai highway network, operating under the supervision of the Department of Highways, and is not an expressway in the legal sense. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:34, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I did't mean ทางพิเศษ, I do understand the definition of ทางพิเศษ in Thailand that it's belong to BEM, but I means ทางด่วน, international simply definition of Expressway. I want to write this article as the international standard, not according to Thai law. This article has from the beginning been about ทางพิเศษ. Having an overview article for all motorway/expressway/freeway systems in Thailand makes sense, but please create a separate article for that, and don't forget to mention the Eastern Ring Road and Chon Buri motorways (Routes 9 and 7), which are covered by the Thai motorway network article. --Paul_012 (talk) 19:10, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Expressway" can both be translated to Thang Phiset and Thang Duan, not only Thang Phiset, i don't agree with you to tie the word with the definition that belong to the expressways authority. For example Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited also have its native name as "ทางด่วนและรถไฟฟ้ากรุงเทพ". Motorway, expressway and controlled-access have same meaning in English, cannot be separated. If you insist to maintain article "Expressways of Thailand", it had better to use "Thang Phiset in Thailand" instead. --Setawut (talk) 19:15, 17 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These problems arise from Thailand's use of these words as translations of different Thai terms; there's not much we can do about that. Anyway, I've renamed the article to focus on the EXAT instead.
