Some thoughts[edit]

The Epitome helped to spread Kepler's ideas, but it is a matter of opinion whether it should be called "influential".

Publication date of first volume of first edition[edit]

I have found no evidence that the first volume of the first edition appeared in 1617, although the Epistola dedicatoria is dated August 1617. However, title pages attest instead to 1618 -- as does the title page of the volume displayed on the page -- and no 1617 date is found in WorldCat. The DNB authority link also asserts 1618 as the first date. Unless convincing evidence is presented here within the next few days, I will change the publication date of the first volume of the first edition from 1617 to 1618. Or, if you are as convinced as I am, please change it yourself... Belastro (talk) 23:15, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
