A Town, a Gangster, a Festival[edit]

Several sites claim that "A Town, a Gangster, a Festival" is based on Hollywood (1980 TV series), but I think that may be an error that's been picked up and repeated. After seeing the episode and reading the article about Hollywood, a connection doesn't make sense. Also, this Wall Street Journal article says that it's the only episode of the first season without an "exact model". Thoughts? Trivialist (talk) 18:17, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree that the episode doesn't follow an "exact model" as the Journal said. However, having seen both the episode and a few parts/episodes of the documentary (in a past film class actually) I feel confident in saying that there is some similarity between the two pieces both tonally and visually. The connection is not nearly as strong as in most other episodes (which are more direct, straightforward, and specific parodies) but it does exist. I'd say that between the reliable sources and having seen both works, it is more than reasonable to include the information. – BoogerD (talk) 21:22, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just changed it to "Les Blank films". That seems closer to me. Daniel Case (talk) 04:06, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Which documentaries shouldn't they parody (outside of Michael Moore and The Jinx)?

Mine would be Life Animated, Hoop Dreams, Shoah, Night and Fog and O.J.: Made in America

Which ones should they spoof:

When is Season 4?[edit]

Is the series over? Espngeek (talk) 21:12, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
