Natural history of the Gap[edit]

Can anyone out there explain how/why this remarkable thing formed? I wonder why the river cut this huge notch, if indeed it did, instead of meandering south and finding an easier route. Sfahey 15:17, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Other water gaps[edit]

The Columbia River Gorge is an example of another water gap, where the Columbia River cuts through the Cascade Range between Oregon and Washington.

In these and other cases, either the river predated the mountains, or the erosive power of the river was probably greatest at that point. 66.234.220.195 (talk) 04:03, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleware Water Gap History[edit]

I am aware that within the history of the Deleware Water Gap there was a Train accident back in the victorian erea, I think. The train was traveling on the Pa side and derailed, it toppled into the Deleware where it remains to this day. Could this Historical fact be mentioned and details confermed so that others may learn of this peice of Deleware Water Gap History. Phantombeauty 18:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
