Atrocities[edit]

About the new section Decima Flottiglia MAS#Participation in the Italian Social Republic: How many men were in the Axis part of the Decima at this time? How many people did they kill? What part of Italy did they affect? Is their part in this enough to justify keeping the {{Fascism}} tag which someone inserted? Anthony Appleyard 15:54, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I inserted that, it seems to me quite obvious. The Xª MAS is definitely one of the main symbols of the Italian Social Republic, and were used in generic actions of terror and partisan repression in northern Italy. I am documenting myself to expand the section, I have found some sources but I have to finish to read them. --Orzetto 19:29, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

List of events[edit]

I reverted this back to a plain list, which is easy to read through. I see no justification to change it into essay style with perpetual literary "varying the expression" making it difficult to look for any one desired bit of information and its date. (I kept the new links about the submarines Iride and Gondar.) Please leave it like that. Very many history texts have plain lists of events. Anthony Appleyard 23:00, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Event?[edit]

September 1943: During the long siege of Leningrad, a group of Russian commando frogmen entered a German naval base at Strelna near Leningrad and destroyed combat boats of the 10th Assault Vehicle Flotilla (Decima Flottiglia MAS).

--

Again once again total bullshit from wikipedia, maybe Mr. Putin was writing this? The MAS boats of this flotilla were sold to finns, every single one and they certainly were not destroyed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.248.159.240 (talk) 16:11, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New sections?[edit]

This is obscure
There should be a break in the history at the point of the Italian Armistice. Up to then X MAS was a Special forces naval unit, with a history at sea. After that it was two separate bodies; one with a different name but with a lot of the same personnel, and still operating at sea, and the other with the same name but with mostly different people in a different role. This should either end at September 1943, with separate articles for the successor units, or, if they are to be on the same page, with a clear break and an expansion of the Mariassalto section. (In fact, to have a Mariassalto section). Opinions? Xyl 54 (talk) 12:08, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There’s been no response to this, so I’ll be bold and go ahead with the changes. Xyl 54 (talk) 02:54, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Realism[edit]

It should be honest here. XMAS could outperform ANY modern so-called anti-terror unit, full stop, no question. The JSOC seal team 6 "hard-men" of US would be wasted within seconds, I know from intensive scrutiny of fact. These people were elite of elite in terms of special operators, so-called. Why is this fact played down? Just because they did not love Stalin? Also: classify them properly: special forces? irregular military? vigilantes? what? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.52.186.148 (talk) 03:15, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

XMAS They were a band of criminals and fascist racist. 87.8.192.122 (talk) 17:08, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Execution of members[edit]

I do not speak Italian, nor do I know the origins of this film www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_mDUlxtRJM but it shows (graphically) the execution of men who were, apparently, members of Decima Flottiglia MAS Shipsview (talk) 11:03, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
