I'd like to add a link to TextConverter by SiMX as a tool relevant to the issue: http://textconverter.simx.com

Does anybody have any objections?

Consider adding it under a section named "Commercial Solutions," since WP is encyclopedic, and people have perceieved an external link as just an advertisement. ManVhv 18:23, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious[edit]

Can OpenOffice.org interpret .DOC files with complete accuracy? I do not think so. --Antonielly (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there such a thing as a "pivotal encoding?"[edit]

The current version of this article mentions "pivotal encodings", but this is most likely a neologism that was invented for this particular article. I haven't seen any use of this phrase outside of Wikipedia, except for a few pages that refer to this Wikipedia article. Jarble (talk) 06:00, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Pivotal encoding" is probably based on an analogy to the pivot languages that are used in interlingual machine translation. Jarble (talk) 07:11, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
