Pageviews consistently far above other articles with the same name. QuietHere (talk) 03:56, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. I would prefer to error on the view that the musician and the 1981 series have about equal long-term significance. The pageviews are skewed to recentism because the musician is active now. And I cannot tell from the article if/how much he is popular outside the U.S. (which could also skew the pageviews to a U.S. bias). As stated on Danger Mouse (1981 TV series)#Reception, there are claims about the TV series popularity and reception, and if the cartoon was airing today in 2022 with those figures, it would have likely generated comparable page views here on Wikipedia (it already now is generating an average of over 9,500 monthly views already, more than a lot of other topics[1]). @Zzyzx11 apologies for badgering you but it's worth noting that the pageviews trend has been consistent since 2015, even when the 2015 series was at its peak for views. That still doesn't cover the peak of the '80s series which is a very fair point, but when you're looking at a scale of that many years, does recentism still apply as strongly? If the series was that huge in its heyday but hasn't been in such a long time, does that not count against it to some degree? I'll understand if you disagree still, just wanna cover my bases. QuietHere (talk) 00:45, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, IMO recentism still applies as strongly because the musician was active back then in 2015 (see Danger Mouse (musician)#Awards. And I still need to know answers to my other question: how popular is he outside the United States? The UK, where the 1981 series was produced, does not have the population to generate the same web traffic as the U.S. Zzyzx11 (talk) 03:39, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Zzyzx11, and I don't see a reason why we should merge the disambiguation page into a hatnote on this article -- 64.229.88.43 (talk) 07:47, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Added move request for the dab. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 02:34, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Not given the notability of the TV series. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:37, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback November 2023[edit]

Hi all. I’m a budding Wikipedian so I will share more feedback and less large editing for now. A lot of this article reads as a resume, and the lack of citations makes a lack of context for the significance of each statement in a sea of statements. It currently sounds like “he did this and then he did this and then and then”, forever, indiscriminately. It could explain more about what makes the music he produces unique. Tell the reader why they need to care or learn more about this musician and how he has enhanced the field of music.

Trim the lead from so many dates and specific albums, to a more bold and direct and hard-hitting list of career highlights, and uniquely interesting facts to catch attention. How many albums, how many are platinum, how many collaborators or the list of the top collaborators like U2. Add the NYT statement of his philosophy, or the top world class statements that have been made about him.

More about his personal life, inspirations, musical education, and motivation would greatly enhance this article. I want to know more about how he developed his style. Where did he get the funds to begin producing? How did he go from mere college student to getting people to listen to his remixed music in college? What was his childhood like, did it affect his desire to make music? Then follow up with more information about his current life other than merely what he is producing.
