The women's 100 metre butterfly competition of the swimming events at the 1959 Pan American Games took place on 2 September (preliminaries)[1][2] and 4 September (finals).[3] The last Pan American Games champion was Beth Whittall of Canada.[4][5][6][7][8]

This race consisted of two lengths of the pool, all in butterfly.[9]
