The women's 200 metre freestyle competition of the swimming events at the 1955 Pan American Games took place on 20 March.[1][2] The last Pan American Games champion was Ana María Schultz of Argentina.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

This race consisted of four lengths of the pool, all in freestyle.[9]
