Summary

Description
English: Pictured is a British soldier wearing a ghillie suit and armed with a Sharpshooter Rifle, taking part in the international Annual International Sniper Competition run by 3rd (UK) Division on Salisbury Plains training area.

Teams from across the British military and their allies in Germany, France, Canada and Denmark compete in a live stalk, ACMT, night engagement, urban and long-range contact assessment.

The annual competition saw entries from the Army, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force Regiment along with invited international teams who had all been selected to enter the competition through previous single service and national sniper competitions.

Sniper teams took part in shoots that represented challenges they would face when deployed on operations both in the urban and rural environments from ranges of 10 metres out to 1200 metres.
