Summary

Description
English: Pictured: A Sailor prepares 7.62mm rounds for HMS Medway’s General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG). During her transit towards Florida, HMS Medway’s gunnery teams had the opportunity to conduct small arms firing at sea (SAFAS). This exercise enables the gunners to further hone their skills in their specialisation. The 7.62×51mm NATO (official NATO nomenclature 7.62 NATO) is a rimless, bottlenecked rifle cartridge. It is a standard for small arms among NATO countries.
