Italiano: Movimento delle paratoie. In condizioni normali di marea, le paratoie sono completamente invisibili e giacciono sui fondali delle bocche di porto, piene d’acqua; quando è prevista un’alta marea, vengono svuotate dall’acqua con l’immissione di aria compressa e si sollevano, fino ad emergere, creando una barriera continua che divide temporanemante il mare dalla laguna.
English: Movement of the gates. In normal tidal conditions, the gates are completely submerged and lie on the seabed of the harbor inlets, full of water; when a high tide is forecast, they are emptied of water with the introduction of compressed air and rise until they emerge, creating a continuous barrier that temporarily divides the sea from the lagoon. |
