Mongasht Rural District (Persian: دهستان منگشت) is in the Central District of Bagh-e Malek County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the village of Abu ol Abbas.[4]
At the National Census of 2006, its population was 10,274 in 1,932 households.[5] There were 10,920 inhabitants in 2,446 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 9,980 in 2,418 households. The most populous of its 22 villages was Abu ol Abbas, with 1,690 people.[2]
